Real Impact – Real Results: 2018-2019 Strategy Session II

Dear Leaders Forum Consortium,

I would like to express my gratitude and sincere thanks for the valuable time and thought leadership you shared with us over the last two days.

With your input and expertise we are stronger together as we build a complete AAPI ecosystem of grass roots and grass tops.

For our AAAIM guests, we were honored to host you at the Ritz-Carlton Penthouse last night with US Congressman Ted Lieu and Treasurer John Chiang. As well, we were delighted to have our special guests from the Pew Research Center, Asian Americans for Advancing Justice – Orange County (AAAJ-OC), CAUSE, and the Work and Family Coalition. We also hope you were inspired by the clip of the life story of our original AAPI American Hero – Secretary Norman Mineta.

The California Club

2018-LA Summit

We believe the key to making impact – is getting things done (GSD – as our member, CEO of NextRep Teddy Liaw likes to say!). Our LF culture is based on authentic friendships built on quality and trust. What binds us is our collective belief, that the U.S. can, and must, be better for the next generation. Unleashing diverse networks of exceptionally talented individuals with proven track records to give their time, talent and resources can only make America stronger.

To that end we invite you to join us for several events this year to mix, mingle and make a difference:

1. AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Policy Conference

On March 24th-26th, 2019, we will attend together as an AAPI cohort to learn and form relationships with some of the preeminent Jewish leaders of America. This is the conference Ted Lieu referred to last night as “impressive”. Every politician of note on both sides of the aisle attends this event. Hotels will go quickly near the convention center so book early. Please see the general information on the AIPAC Policy Conference and we are currently in negotiations on a possible special rate and meetings

2. Leaders Forum Chicago this upcoming Spring

Chicago Leaders Forum members have a reputation of throwing the best parties with an emphasis on rich discussions with prominent leaders. Senators have also been invited and are expected to attend, as well as, other special guests.

3. Leaders Forum Summer Resort Retreat

Families and significant others included. On August 9-16, 2019. This is currently planned for the LA/Southern California region.

Here are the items we will be working on this year and next and we welcome you to join us:
Mineta Education project – to compliment the film
The Pew Research Center/LF Initiative on AAPI study
The Gig Economy, America Work & Families, Immigrant Stories of Success
Bipartisan solution to Paid Family Leave
Asia Thought Leadership Council
US Census/Get out the vote – innovative solutions

Our Leaders Forum working group on the Asia Council and the Gig Economy, Work and Families & Immigrant Stories of Success will be going to Washington DC to meet with Senators, and as guests of WC YPO, will also get to hear from at least three Supreme Court Justices, Alan Greenspan, journalist Andrea Mitchell, and national security experts. We look forward to updating you after that trip on what we accomplished.
