Executive Summit
The Impact of AAPI Thought Leadership & the Road Ahead
Dear Leaders Forum Members & Guests,
On behalf of the Leaders Forum, I would like to thank you for spending your time with us at the Residence of the UK Ambassador and sharing an evening of wonderful exchanges here in New York City.
Together, we are forming an amazing consortium of global thought leaders driving meaningful change. We believe together we can leverage our strengths to uplift talented members of the Asian American community to positively impact the highest levels of the public, private and philanthropic sectors in the US and the world.
Special thanks to our evening’s hosts HE Dame Karen Pierce DCMG, The United Kingdom Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Laura Hickley, Her Majesty’s Deputy Consul General in New York.
We were delighted to have strategic tactical discussions about moving both our community and our country forward with executive guests from the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM). We were also honored to have Ambassadors & dignitaries from Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Fiji, Indonesia, Netherlands, and New Zealand in attendance.
As we cherish the honor of being hosted by the British Embassy, we were reminded by the performance of the young and talented Jeffrey Yang of the Children’s Orchestra Society about why we were gathered together — to show our support for the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC). With 42 current member countries, the ERC advances its agenda by engaging with civil society organizations and multilateral agencies.
Special thanks to LF member Amazin LeThi, Founder, Asian Athletes Alliance, Stephanie Horsburgh, Head of Public Diplomacy: Events, Visits & Projects for the British Consulate General & UK Mission to the UN, my executive associate Michelle Graves and our volunteers from the Global Leadership Organization for all of their hard work to bring together such a beautiful assembly for our honored guests.
To our guests, we were captivated and grateful for all the wonderful conversations. We also had solid content meetings with our partners at Pew and NAE the following day and a wonderful screening of Tim Tsai’s movie Seadrift, which was the critically acclaimed film about the vietnamese immigrant fishing community’s struggle against the KKK in Texas.
We will have another senators meeting at the end of Oct for those that missed this meeting and I hope to see you all again at our next LF event in Las Vegas in a few months.
For further opportunities to get involved with Leaders Forum as a member and our mission to elevate Asian Americans thought leadership and civic engagement for the greater good we invite you to visit www.leadersforum.org.
Please contact me ([email protected]) or Michelle Graves ([email protected]) if you have any questions or comments.
The time to Lead is now!
Best Regards,
Lorna Randlett
